hummingbird hawk-moth

Earlier in the year I noticed that the small corkscrew hazel that we’d grown from a stick that came with a bouquet of flowers was infested with caterpillars. It happened last year and I used a spray to kiill them but this year I was in conservation mood so left them. The bush is now stripped but we now have lots of hummingbird hawk-moths. Mr Google says the caterpillars and moths are related. The moths are amazing with their long tongues and the way they fly looking just like hummingbirds. The wings are so fast that they seem blurred. This photo was with my iPhone that did a great job but set the speed too slow.
