DECORATOR
I’ve always done the decorating but when Jayne decided she wanted wallpaper on one of the staircase walls I accepted my limitations and said there was no way I was messing with such long drops balanced on a ladder. Time for the professionals. Jayne chose a Little Green wallpaper that made my wallet bleed but it matched the Little Green colour I’d painted the hallway. The emulsion for the other walls couldn’t be white apparently so the recommended off white at £160 was bought. Oh, and a litre of matching top coat for the skirting boards. This is serious stuff but maybe a once in a lifetime cost. Maybe not. When the decorator arrived last Monday he asked if we wanted him to finish off the hallway. Cheeky. Mind you, it was worthwhile, it’s the little things. The paper has embossed daisy’s so he said he’d have to buy a wallpaper brush since nowadays they use a squeegee type tool which wouldn’t work when he was putting up embossed £100 notes. I was able to lend him one. At least I saved a couple of quid.
