FLIGHT

I may have mentioned that my next long distance walking holiday is St Magnus Way in the Orkney’s next June. It’s a bit of a pain to get to somewhere with a ferry connection so we’re flying. We’d done the research and a flight from Birmingham to Kirkwall via Aberdeen was our chosen route but seats were not available till mid September. When we came to book a couple of weeks ago there were only 2 seats left on the plane! It’s only a small plane so luggage is limited to 15kg plus a small bag up to 5kg. My normal backpack is too big for a carry-on so it’s time for a day bag as they’re called. Big enough for wet weather gear and sandwiches. There’s endless choices but luckily lots of time to choose.
